Every year approximately 400,000 excited students come to Canada to study. From study options including elementary school, high school, French or English language study, Colleges of Applied Arts and Technology, Private Schools, Polytechnics and Universities, Canada provides a wealth of education opportunities to satisfy the hopes and goals of every student and their families.
The vast majority of students who come to Canada will require a study permit.
A Study Permit allows the student to stay in Canada and study. A Visa allows the student to enter Canada. For some students, they may come from a Visa Exempt Country. If you are from one of those countries, you will need an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA). If your Study Permit is approved, you will be issued either an eTA or Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) by the immigration Authorities.
